Eleni was born in 1970 in Trikala, Thessalia, Greece and joined the Shipping Finance section of the firm in the Piraeus Office in 2000.


EDUCATION

Eleni obtained her law degree from the Law Faculty of the Aristotelion University of Thessaloniki and a master degree (LLM) in Maritime and Commercial Law from the University of Southampton, England.

Professional Activities

Eleni Papakosta is a finance lawyer based in the Piraeus office and head of the firm’s ship finance department.   She has extensive experience in syndicated, bilateral and mezzanine loan facilities, inter-creditor and subordination arrangements, guarantee facilities and other types of secured facilities.

Eleni advises a wide range of international banks and financial institutions on all aspects of restructurings and work-outs.

She also advises shipowners operating out of Greece on shipping projects and financing arrangements.

Eleni has been a speaker at several conferences/workshops organised by Lloyds List events in London and Greece.
